FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)

Note:  The used of Rivermoore Park or RP implies that the resident is in Good Standing.  Residents who have not paid their yearly dues are not entitled to use any amenities within Rivermoore Park.

  • Why did the Board request the Tennis Committee develop rules in the first place?
Just as rules had been developed and approved for the use of the Pool, the Board of Directs requested that the Tennis Committee create two documents -- Tennis Rules and Tennis Committee Roles and Responsibilities to help govern tennis within Rivermoore Park.  The rules submitted by the Tennis Committee, after a few changes by the board, were approved in February and re-approved in April,
in support of the Covenants and "To assure maximum enjoyment and utilization of the Rivermoore Park Tennis Facility by all Members*  (Residents) and their guests..." (as quoted from the first line of the Tennis Rules document".

  • Why is it beneficial for our neighborhood to have rules?
Having rules to govern our amenities, both swim and tennis, help us to provide a safe environment and ensures that all residents are treated in a equable manner while enjoying these facilities.  Although rules do not guarantee fun, it paves the way.

  • Is the Board trying to disband established Tennis teams?
    NO!!!
The Board wants to encourage all teams to play and more importantly, all residents to play on tennis teams.  Tennis within Rivermoore is funded by the residents and would not exist without our residents paying annual homeowners dues.  Rivermoore tennis teams should be required to have a minimum number of Rivermoore Park residents, giving residents the priority over non-resident membership & play.

  • Explain the Minimum Resident Requirement for forming a team?
Because RP is built out, the pool of available tennis players has increased within our community.  Each team should have a minimum number of Rivermoore Park residents on the team in order for it to be a Rivermoore Park team.

    To clarify ... Following
the various tennis team league rules for ALTA, USTA,  T-2, K-Swiss, or any  league not named, for team roster requirements (as stated in the general rules/regulations of each league,) any Rivermoore Park team seeking approval for league play must have a minimum number of residents on the roster equal to 50% of league requirement as a minimum.    (As an example, if ALTA requires 12 players to form a team, there must be 6 RP residents on the roster.  If the same team has 17 players on the roster, only 6 RP residents, following the 50% minimum requirement, must be on the roster).  This requirement becomes effective January 1, 2007 for all teams.  The Tennis Committee will review the return of each team, each season.

If a RP team has fewer than the minimum, they must make every effort possible to promote their team within RP, advertising for players on bulletin boards, the website, etc. and encouraging potential players to move up to the higher level of play.  If a team has made every effort possible, exceptions will be considered.

  • Why must we collect $25 from Non-Residents who help form our teams?
Because all residents pay yearly (or annual) homeowner dues, requiring a nominal fee for non-residents to use our beautiful facilities is not too much to ask.  This fee is used
to assist with the maintenance and upkeep of the facilities that they (non-residents) use such as wear and tear on courts, bathroom facilities, etc.

  • I wanted to be on a team but was told there was no room for me...
Rivermoore Park residents, requesting to be on a league team, are to be placed on the roster in preference to any non-resident.  Each team must make a good faith effort to locate players who reside in the neighborhood prior to adding a non-resident to their roster.  If the resident is denied, that resident should contact the Tennis Committee for resolution.  If not resolved, the resident is encouraged to contact the Board.

  • Why can only 8 teams be formed for a league season when there are 10 courts available?
To be fair to all residents, two courts(9 and 10) are reserved for resident use at all times.   This provides two courts for residents to play on when leagues are using the other courts.
